About Lou Orehek
Lou Orehek is a dedicated resident and experienced public servant with a long history of making a tangible impact on the Borough of Ambler. He and his family have been proud members of the community for over 27 years. A computer engineer by profession, Lou has had a distinguished career and currently leads a software development team for a global media and technology company. He applies this same expertise to his public service, often going above and beyond his duties to benefit the borough.

Lou has served on the Ambler Borough Council for a total of ten years. He was previously an elected council member for eight years from 2000 to 2007 before taking a break to raise his four children. He was recently appointed in 2023 to fill a vacancy, where he currently serves as Chair of Public Utilities and as a member of Public Safety.
During his years on the council, Lou has delivered results on vital infrastructure projects. He oversaw the installation of new radio read water meters to improve efficiency, and facilitated a new emergency generator for the borough hall, which was critical to its function as a command center during Hurricane Sandy. He also helped manage seven water main replacements, installed new storm sewers for Haywood Park, and championed the replacement of the Loch Alsh water tank, which significantly improved fire protection.
Now, with his children grown, Lou is once again committed to serving the borough. His proven experience, dedication, and energy are exactly what the Ambler community needs. On November 5th, vote for Lou Orehek to bring a dedicated and experienced leader back to the borough council.
