About Sal Boccuti
Born and raised in Ambler, Sal earned a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting from what is now Drexel University. For the early part of his career, he served as the Chief Accountant for the local division of a national corporation. He subsequently established his own tax and public accounting practice, serving Ambler and the surrounding area for over fifteen years. Because of his love for flying and photography, he decided to divest himself of his accounting practice, and established a successful aerial photography business, which he has owned and operated ever since.

Sal is active and well known within the Ambler community, and his service is exemplary. He served for sixteen years on the Borough Planning Commission and attended the vast majority of regular borough council and committee meetings during that period. He is a charter member, and previous co-chair, of the BoRit Community Advisory Group (CAG), a volunteer organization dedicated to working with local, state and federal government agencies to address the problems associated with asbestos contamination in our area. Sal dedicated significant time documenting the EPA’s remediation of the BoRit Asbestos Superfund site, including pro bono use of his aerial photography business for almost twenty years. He is also a member of the Weaver’s Way Food Co-op.
Sal is committed to ensuring that the borough is governed responsibly, with sound, transparent fiscal planning and budget management, and prioritizing initiatives that benefit the citizens. Sal supports changing from a “ward” system of voting to an “at large” system, similar to what Whitpain and Lower Gwynedd Townships have, protecting residents’ right to vote for candidates of their choice. He would like Ambler Borough Council to re-evaluate the annual Business Privilege Tax imposed on every business, and rental property (including residential), originally instituted to solve a budget shortfall for a particular year but has been in place ever since. He would also like to see more public acknowledgement of area veterans, similar to the banners posted on the main streets of other area communities.
Sal is an objective, hard-working individual who enjoys the people of Ambler and would be honored to represent them in the 3rd Ward.
