As a longtime parent in the district, she is concerned about the continued misguided priorities of the current school board, priorities that have led directly to continued falling academic performance, misallocated funding and budgetary mismanagement, division among students, and a breakdown in communication with parents and the community. As a board member, she would be committed to challenging programs that do not help achieve academic success for all students, focusing budget, data collection, and other academic resources towards achieving long-term student success. She would help prioritize effective, two-way communication between school administration and the community, and ensuring that parental needs and concerns are considered when setting program priorities. Additionally, she would support active measures to ensure teacher and student safety, including appropriate disciplinary programs, parental transparency, and protection for students in both athletic programs and within school facilities.
